Season 5
The West Wing season 5 was premiered on 9-24-2003 and the opening episode was entitled ‘7A WF 83429’. As the series enters into its fifth season, the administration of President Jed Bartlet is till technically in charge of the United States. During the season 4, Bartlet’s daughter was kidnapped by the Qumari terrorists so he released power to the nest person in command. Season opens as the search for Zoey is continue, and Walken takes a very hard line against the kidnappers. At Walken’s orders, Qumar is bombed in retaliation for Zoey’s abduction, prompting Bartlet’s staff to seek out a new, less reactionary vice president as soon as possible. Late on, Jed lobbies for the approval of his new VP, as soon as possible. Season finale was aired on 5-9-2004 with the episode entitled ‘Memorial Day’. Season ends when Bartlet builds up to face the major crisis in his administration, an all out war between Israel and Palestine. Donna faces critical wounds when her convoy is attacked by terrorists when she was on a fact finding mission in Palestine.
